A Saturday arvo in the backyard in Brisbane

16-November-2010

Michelle smiled “Wally and I never wanted a wedding wedding if you know what I mean”.

We were in the backyard she’d grown up in and looking around it was hard not to think it was a tasteful wedding venue. Marquee, fairy lights in the branches, comfy furniture around the lawn, shady trees and lot’s of details, many in black and white, fabulous artistic floristry etc, etc. All the same I knew what she meant.
BTW apparently if you’re interested, Ray and Kate are taking bookings for next year;)

Great! I never wanted the white wedding thing. (married at registry in'67 with close family). However, seeing the superb photographs you produce of the occasion makes me envious (in a nice way) of the beautiful record you achieve of a pretty important moment in one's life. The next step, is to keep it together for 50-60 years. You would have to be up there with the topwedding photojournalists around.

Fabulous images Stephen. Michelle and Wally sure did have a beautiful wedding, and we were so honored to be a part of it, creating bright chic blooms for all requirements of the day. You have a beautiful photography style :)

What beautiful photographs... If i ever get married i think i would like a backyard wedding. I love the shot of the guys with the "blue steel" look... And the black and white shot of the chairs in the backyard after the ceremony.. I love the brides boquet also... A very tasteful wedding captured beautifully on film by a truely talented photographer..

Wow Stephen! I love these images... the ring shot, everything. The portraits - great location, so unique. You have such an eye for detail - the bride and groom must have been so happy.

P.S. Truly timeless images. That first portrait in black and white could be a photo from the archives. Beautiful.
